As the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread at an unprecedented rate, many hospitals are facing shortages of critical medical resources. To help them stay afloat, Fullerton Markets has come forward to do their bit in multiple ways.
Fullerton Markets, through its corporate social responsibility arm Fullerton Foundation, has contributed medical supplies and groceries to local healthcare frontliners and enforcement personnel in Thailand and Malaysia. The team shipped medical supplies and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including disinfectants, coveralls, face masks and goggles to different provinces in Thailand. These resources were also sent to the victims of forest fires in Northern Thailand to help relieve shortages in local medical facilities. Forest fires have been raging in Chiang Mai province over the past two months, resulting in adverse health impacts on the local communities.
Meanwhile in Malaysia, staff and partners of Fullerton Markets distributed sanitisers, food and groceries to local medical workers and police officers.
“This is a global crisis we’ve never seen before. We must stay together and support one another in the fight against COVID-19. These contributions are our way of saying thank you to every single personnel who has been working hard for the local communities. We hope to help ease hardships and provide support to as many people as possible during this time. Together, we will weather the storm,” said CEO of Fullerton Markets, Mario Singh.
Fullerton Foundation has been actively supporting communities in need, especially marginalised children and the elderly living in poverty all over Southeast Asia. The foundation will continue to reach out to these vulnerable groups to cushion the impact and mitigate the hardships caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
